Tevere Day 2026 runs from 2 to 11 October with more than 130 events spread across over 80 kilometres, from Nazzano and Farfa north of Rome to Ostia and Fiumicino. The programme combines boat trips, walks, sport, archaeology, environmental workshops, talks and volunteering.
For travellers, the festival offers a useful change of perspective. Instead of treating the Tiber as background scenery, it connects Ponte Milvio, the historic centre, Tiber Island, new riverside parks and the route towards the coast. Each activity has its own meeting point and booking rules, so always open the individual listing before setting out.
Visitor-friendly highlights
On 3 and 4 October, “Rome from the Tiber aboard N7” offers electric-boat trips from the Marevivo Floating Hub on Lungotevere Arnaldo da Brescia; booking is required and the price must be checked on the activity page. On 3 October, “Gocce di Tevere” brings river stories and historic images to the Ponte Milvio-Foro Italico riverside park, with several bookable sessions.
On Sunday 4 October, the Teverevivo Village at Scalo de Pinedo runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with citizen science, environmental activities and soundscapes; some sessions require booking. On 10 October, a free-form cycle ride starts in the Ostia Antica area at 10:30 am without advance booking, while the Vogalonga Tiberina follows the river towards Ostia.
Is it suitable for non-Italian speakers?
Outdoor activities, boat trips and sport generally have a lower language barrier than talks. Guided visits and discussions are likely to be mainly in Italian unless the individual page says otherwise. The festival does not use one all-inclusive ticket: some events are free, some require booking and others may charge a fee.
