Free MAXXI entry in Rome on 10 October 2026: what to see

Share

MAXXI joins the Day of Contemporary Art with free access to selected exhibitions. It is an opportunity to put a museum visit on your itinerary without committing to a paid ticket. Check the event programme carefully: the announcement does not establish that every museum service is free.

The listed displays include Italian architecture, Andrea Pazienza’s drawings and The Large Glass. Choosing a route before you arrive can make the experience more manageable than trying to cover every gallery.

Visiting without Italian

Artwork and architectural displays can provide a visual starting point even when you cannot read every text. Pazienza’s comic pages are also worth looking at for their drawing, but their dialogue and references are harder to follow without Italian.

Guided-tour and workshop languages have not been confirmed. Independent viewing is therefore the safer option for travellers whose plans depend on an English-language experience. Allow around two hours as an editorial estimate for a selective visit, rather than a guaranteed museum duration.
