Hadrianeum Rome 2026: tickets, times and the immersive Temple of Hadrian experience

Share

Piazza di Pietra is best known for the eleven monumental columns of the ancient Temple of Hadrian. Hadrianeum adds an indoor experience to the outdoor monument: a 22-minute immersive film devised by science communicator Paco Lanciano and projected across the floor, walls and ceiling.

The show follows the temple and its surroundings through different periods of Roman history. It is not a large archaeological museum, but it can make the remains outside easier to understand. Its central location also makes it convenient between the Pantheon, Sant’Ignazio, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Venezia.

What you will see — and who it suits

The screening takes place near the former entrance of Rome’s Stock Exchange. Moving images create the impression of flying over the city and entering monuments, churches, palaces and squares in different eras. The strongest reason to go is context: the reconstruction is shown in the same complex that incorporates the ancient remains.

The official sources do not state whether English narration or subtitles are available. Travellers who do not understand Italian should confirm language options before buying. Allow extra time to arrive: ticket holders are asked to be there 15 minutes before the screening.
